Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in my garden, home, and travel! Enjoy.

One Kings Lane Libby Bed, Easy Hack!

One Kings Lane Libby Bed, Easy Hack!

I love the Raleigh Curved Upholstered Low Bed from Pottery Barn which I first saw on Jenny Steffens “Bedroom Tour” blog post.

After Alex and I finished Phase I of our Bedroom Renovation, I was ready to update our rustic wood bed frame to something…warmer. Unfortunately, the Pottery Barn bed was over budget so I went in search of a similar bed at a more budget-friendly price.

I settled on the Libby Bed in Talc Linen from One Kings Lane. After using a coupon code (have you downloaded the Honey browser extension yet? It automatically searches for the best coupon code and applies it to your order!), the price of the bed came to about $600. For comparison, the Pottery Barn one was just over $2,000. I sold our old bed on Facebook Marketplace for $400, so I think I made out with a great upgrade for only $200 extra!

I love the look of the Libby Bed as it is very similar to the PB one. There was one thing that really bothered me about the bed though; the ugly black feet! I think they make the bed look cheap and stood out starkly in our mostly cream bedroom.

I considered switching out the feet for a wood version, but honestly, that seemed complicated and time consuming. Instead, I ordered this peel-and-stick wallpaper in a wood-grain style for $9.99 and wrapped it around the feet.

A love a quick and inexpensive upgrade and this stick-on wallpaper certainly delivered!

Now the ugly, black legs are no longer the first thing I see when I walk into our bedroom. For $9.99 and about one minute of work, I consider this a major win! The peel-and-stick wallpaper was really easy to adhere. I would recommend using it to cover up any unsightly surfaces you might be working with.

I can’t possibly share bedroom photos without including our Christmas tree! Alex and I picked a BIG one this year. By this time next year, we will hopefully have a beautiful en suite master bath where the tree now stands so we are truly savoring every moment of it this season.
