Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in my garden, home, and travel! Enjoy.

Fall Flower Arrangements

Fall Flower Arrangements

Fall has introduced new color combinations in our garden. With the soundtrack to Midnight in Paris in the background, I have kept busy whimsically arranging cut blooms for every room of the house. The limelight hydrangea have turned pink and brown, a spectacular combination with my still-blooming roses and my dearly loved wildflowers.

For the wildflower arrangement below, I selected a stunning Ironstone pitcher that I purchased for $30 on Facebook marketplace back in March. I originally pictured the vase filled with bright yellow daffodils, which were just blooming in my garden at the time. I still love the idea of pairing the bright colors against the cloudy blue glaze.

I snipped wildflowers from my American Meadows wildflower garden and added in a few springs of fragrant Rosemary from my tree to add some yummy fragrance.

As you can probably tell, I am still in love with my antique slant from desk which you can read more about here. I just had the portrait of my grandma on her wedding day reframed and I think it looks spectacular and dreamy hanging above my desk. She watches over me as I work most days.

The next flower arrangement has quintessential Fall colors. I combine limelight hydrangea, Pope John Paul II roses and wildflowers for a true end-of-season feeling. For this arrangement, I chose a glass vessel for two reasons. The first is that I wanted the attention to remain on the colors of the fall blooms. Secondly, Limelight Hydrangea have very thick upright stems that I thought could be shown off nicely. The green and brown stems tie in nicely with the colors of the blooms.

How perfect is this Pope John Paul II rose? I can hardly believe I have grown such a divine flower in my garden!

For the third arrangement, I selected a silver mint julep cup and filled it with three Munstead Wood roses and a single rose of each Princesse Charlene de Monaco and Moonlight in Paris. I added in a few branches from the Crepe Myrtle whose leaves how now turned a rusty hue. On my bedside table, this arrangement is tidy but impactful.

My dresser is also an antique from the late 1800s. The lamp is Pottery Barn. The vintage jewelry box was my grandma’s.

Although it nears the end of October, I am happy to report that my garden is still hanging onto its flowers. It seems everyone and everything is reluctant to welcome winter!
