Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in my garden, home, and travel! Enjoy.

Fall in the Garden

Fall in the Garden

Our garden is a lovely mix of rusty colors, decay and a bit of chaos right now. I was just comparing a photograph of our Hosta and Wild Ginger from July to a photograph I took this afternoon, and I am amazed at the change in color and the life cycle of these plants. We are tremendously lucky here in Philadelphia to experience the fall season!

Below, you can see the photographs that I was comparing. The photo on the left is from my Rosa ‘Popcorn Drift’ blog post on July 16, 2019. The photo on the right I took today! If you click on the photos, they will enlarge. Take a look at the wonderfully shades of red on the Oak Leaf Hydrangea leaves!

By September, the Limelight Hydrangea and our Limelight Tree Form Hydrangea had become tinged with pink. Now, they are well on their way to a golden, honey brown, but they have made a tiny push of new growth that is sticks out off the tip of the blooms and is pink. You can see this well in the photograph below. I think it is so funny!
