Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in my garden, home, and travel! Enjoy.

Decorating with Flowers

Claude Monet said “I must have flowers, always, and always.” I feel the same way. Throughout the year, I am forever clipping flowers and greenery from throughout the garden to bring inside. An arrangement of fresh flowers brightens up a room immensely, and particularly because I work from home and spend so much time in the house, I like to make sure I am surrounded by beautiful blooms in every room!

This arrangement is made up of Limelight Hydrangea from the Tree, Rosa ‘Popcorn Drift’ and leaves from our Skip Laurel. The Rosa ‘Popcorn Drift’ were quite hard to handle and fell apart quite easily. This was the first and last time I will be cutting them for indoor use!

The plats and flatware are from Pottery Barn. The napkins and napkin rings are from Target. The blue and white candlestick holders are from a local second-hand shop located in Wayne, PA called The Velvet Shoestring.

I like to refer to this as our coffee bar and our bar bar. As you can see, it also hosts our toaster oven so that we do not lose precious counter space in our small kitchen! I have wanted an actual bar cart to add to this room for awhile, but I have yet to find the perfect one. So for now, all of our other glassware and cocktail tools are stored away in the kitchen cabinets. In this photo, I arranged some hydrangea blooms on top of a stack of cook books.

This is one of my favorite arrangements yet! I love the color combination of the Limelight Hydrangea and the regular Hydrangea (the hydrangea was one of two plants that was here when we moved in, so I do not know the exact variety of the bush). It is perfect for fall!

I cheated a little bit with this arrangement. The white hydrangea flowers and the white roses are from Trader Joe’s! I am always so impressed with the quality and price of the flowers at Trader Joe’s that I cannot help but pick some up. This arrangement is a dozen rose stems and ten hydrangea and it cost $20 total. The flowers are in a beautiful Tiffany cache pot that I purchased from a local second-hand store, The Velvet Shoestring for $40. What a steal! I love how the colors pop against our white, brick fireplace (Romabio Bianco White Limewash) and our white walls (Benjamin Moore White Dove).
